Taíno Studios has documented the Hope Symposium on Gun Violence for both years of its existence, from a single-day gathering in 2025 to a two-day program and a headquarters ribbon-cutting in 2026.

Founded in 1979 as a refugee resettlement organization, Intercultural Family Services has spent nearly five decades supporting Philadelphia families through behavioral health, family services, immigrant and refugee programs, and community-based care. The organization’s work is rooted in meeting people where they are and building stronger systems of support around them.

1st Annual Hope Symposium on Gun Violence

The first Hope Symposium brought community leaders, clinicians, faith leaders, advocates, and residents together for a full day of conversation around gun violence and its impact on Philadelphia communities. We documented the speakers, panels, audience, and interactions throughout the day while also producing IFS’s first mission video since the organization’s founding in 1979.

2nd Annual Hope Symposium and Ribbon-Cutting

IFS returned for year two as the symposium expanded across two full days, including keynote remarks, the Community Voices and Bridging Perspectives panels, and six breakout sessions. The gathering also marked the ribbon-cutting for IFS’s new 36,000-square-foot headquarters in West Philadelphia.

The photography from 2025 continued working after the first symposium ended. IFS used the images in flyers, promotional materials, and communications announcing the second year. That continued use shows why consistent event documentation matters. Each gallery serves the immediate event while building a visual history the organization can return to as its programs and partnerships grow.
