UnitedMasters: A Celebration of Independence
Grammy Week Concert • Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles
Created as the first Grammy Week concert centered entirely on independent music, A Celebration of Independence has grown into one of the week’s defining live events, bringing established names and rising artists onto the same stage.
Our involvement spans three editions of the concert. Across each year, we photographed the full show while also taking on agency-side operations and production leadership. That meant capturing every set from the floor while supervising staff, responding to production needs, and helping the event move smoothly behind the scenes.

Our first year inside the Hollywood Palladium established the rhythm of the assignment: full-show concert photography alongside on-site operational responsibility.

We returned with a stronger understanding of the room, the production, and the timing needed to document a full night of performances without losing the energy between sets.
The Los Angeles wildfires forced the cancellation of the 2025 edition. The concert paused for the year, but the event and the working relationship returned in 2026.

Back at the Hollywood Palladium, the third year reflected how much the concert had grown. The experience built across the earlier editions allowed us to anticipate the production while staying responsive to what happened live.
Three years inside the same event creates a level of familiarity no single assignment can provide. We learned how the room moves, how the lighting changes between sets, where the crowd energy builds, and how to anticipate the moments that define a performance.
The completed galleries preserve the growth of a concert that has become central to Grammy Week’s celebration of independent music. Each year carries its own artists and visual identity, but together they show the continuity of an event, the teams behind it, and the performers shaping music outside the traditional label system.
“Three years on the floor of the same event teaches you things about light, timing, and live production that no single assignment can. You begin to recognize where the moment is going before it gets there.”
